Not only was the last minute bid rejected by the judge presiding over the Xyience Energy Drink bankruptcy no one in New Zealand seems to know anything about the company doing the bidding.

Even the NZ business media is scratching their collective heads over the identity of Medici Group Holdings, who made the ultimately rejected $15.5 million bid:

Details about New Zealand company Medici Group Holdings, the last minute surprise bidder in the sale of a Las Vegas based drinks company, remain a mystery.

Shaun Michael McCullough of Medici Limited told NZPA tonight his company had no connection to Medici Group Holdings.

“I’m sorry, I wish I could help, but I don’t know who that is,” he said.
