The WAMMA heavyweight title belt–to be awarded to the winner of the Fedor Emelianenko/Tim Sylvia match at ‘Affliction: Banned’–has been completed and looks pretty impressive. There’s a big article up on the official WAMMA website about the design and manufacture of the belt which might be of more interest to metallurgy enthusiasts than fight fans. Here’s a picture of the belt with WAMMA’s Michael Lynch and Dave Szady along with Affliction’s Michael D. Cohen. It also affords us a valuable lesson about not judging people by their appearance–you’d think the guy with the Clay Guida looking hair would be the dude from Affliction, but he’s the one in the middle. Also note that we’ve added a WAMMA category, and removed the one for Yamma Pit Fighting. Just couldn’t justify having a ‘WAMMA’ and a ‘YAMMA’ on the category list….
