Long before Vince McMahon got the idea to produce movies featuring WWE stars, the practice was very common in Mexico where action films staring Lucha Libre competitors have been ubiquitous for decades. Perhaps the biggest Lucha “crossover” star was the legendary El Santo, and this clip features a montage of fight scenes from his many film appearances:

    Hey Jim,
I used to watch El Santo when I was a kid. El Santo vs, the Vampire, El Santo vs. The Mummy and even El Santo vs. the great Comic Capulina. El Santo would also sometimes team up with Blue Demon (another popular wrestler).

I watched these at the old vintage theaters down in Tijuana and it was a real treat and quite an experience. Gald to see you bring up El Santo.

Whoops! I didn’t notice that it was The Bad Cpa who actually brought up El Santo. Good call.
