New match added to DREAM.5 card
By Hoyt July 16th, 2008Hideo Tokoro, who won the match of the year candidate bout with our guy Darren Uyenoyama at DREAM.4 will face DEEP veteran Takeshi Yamazaki at DREAM.5. As we mentioned during our DREAM.4 play-by-play, Tokoro is a tough fighter to figure. His record of 20-13 isn’t overwhelmingly impressive, and most of his losses have come to opponents that were well below ’superstar’ status (Caol Uno the only exception). If you saw his fight with Uyenoyama, however, you know that his record is almost inexplicable given his talent and versatility.
In any case, based on his fight with Uyenoyama he’s worth watching anytime he gets in the ring. Also, word on the street is that Uyenoyama will be back in a DREAM ring at DREAM.6 As we’ve noted before, Uyenoyama has all of the making of a top fighter in the sport. If you didn’t see it first time around check out these words of praise for Uyenoyama from no less than Shinya ‘Freakin’ Aoki.
