Fedor/Arlovski off for Affliction 2?

That’s the current word on the streets–Fedor is apparently dealing with a lingering hand injury (presumably caused by beating Tim Sylvia’s head repeatedly) and won’t be able to get ready in time for the (tentatively) scheduled 10/11/08 date for the Affliction 2 show. We’re guessing that Fedor is less concerned with the Affliction 2 show as he is about the big New Years’ Eve show in Japan (whomever and wherever he’ll be fighting, most likely in DREAM). Rumor now is that Josh Barnett will replace Fedor in the main event–it won’t be for the WAMMA heavyweight title but Barnett v. Arlovski is a pretty good fight in itself…more info as we get it.

    Wow, I find that troubling mostly because while they’re talking Arlovski, the fact is that Randy Couture’s contract brouhaha will have ended by then and seeing Fedor and Randy tangle is way up on the let’s get it done already meter.

    After seeing the relentlessness of Fedor in the Sylvia fiht, Arlovski is going to be kind of a Bundt Cake isn’t it? Qixed quick, eaten even faster.

    I also look forward to seeing what kind of “movement” we have with the Wamma belt. As far as I can tell, Fedor is going to have to fall to some weird accident that kills him to “not be the best on the planet” at this point.

    He’s truly amazing.
