We got into the female wrestling promotion Shimmer since a number of us here at SavSci have a crush on MsChif, one of their competitors. Probably because we’ve always dreamed of meeting a woman who blows green mist a la The Great Muta. We were expecting some glorified T&A show like the WWE Divas or the old 80’s chestnut G.L.O.W. Guess again–Shimmer is closer to the Japanese women’s promotions where they emphasize the athleticism and downplay the T&A. The great thing about Shimmer is that the wrestlers are hot *and* insanely talented. The first video is a promo clip of the aforementioned MsChif (who’s the reigning NWA women’s champion/Shimmer champion):
