By Jim Murphy August 22nd, 2008

The upstart American Fight League, who made a big commitment to women’s MMA with the signing of Tara LaRosa, added even more depth to their roster today with the signing of several top fighters. Julie Kedzie, best known for putting the sport (or at least the distaff version of it) on the map with her spirited battle against Gina Carano on the first EliteXC show, was the biggest name along with Roxanne Modafferi and Emily Thompson.

The rapidly growing American Fight League added further depth to its women’s division with the signings of Julie Kedzie (9-7), Roxanne Modafferi (12-4) and Emily Thompson (3-0).

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) learned of the roster additions today from AFL representatives.

Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The Kentucky-based American Fight League also recently signed arguably the world’s top female fighter, Tara LaRosa (15-1). LaRosa will likely fight Modafferi at the AFL’s November pay-per-view debut, according AFL Director of Public Relations Sean McClure.
