Louisiana is quietly becoming a very prolific breeding ground for MMA fighters–the Lafayette Advertiser profiles Jules Bruchez of Iota, LA who’ll be a contestant on the forthcoming edition of “The Ultimate Fighter”:

Iota native Jules Bruchez has experienced the ups and downs of life.

From a strained relationship with his deceased father, to his recent proposal to fiancee Nicole Bergeron, Bruchez has run the gamut of emotions.

But if life’s a roller-coaster ride, Bruchez is approaching the most-exhilarating peak.

Bruchez is set to make his Ultimate Fighting pro debut tonight as the first episode of the eighth season of The Ultimate Fighter airs at 9 p.m. on Spike TV.

The show will air after the UFC’s The Ultimate Fight Night live card, which begins at 7 p.m. on Spike.

“I’m excited about it, after working so hard to make it and to finally see that happen, it’s great,” Bruchez said. “When I got the call saying I had made it (through the audition and interview process), I saved it on my voice mail. I just kept listening to it over and over.”
