ShoXC: Dave Herman vs. Kerry ‘Meat Truck’ Schall

By Jim Murphy October 10th, 2008

Schall is an experienced veteran who has fought an insane level of competition including Ben Rothwell twice and a guy you may have heard of named Fedor Emelianenko. Herman is quite a character–he trains by himself at home and claims to “not have a strategy”. While that may be something he’ll need to change if he wants to step up in class but hard to argue with that 11-0 record. Schall’s career record is 22-10 which is pretty good with the class of opponents that he’s faced….33% of his defeats are to Rothwell and Fedor which ain’t too shabby….Hard to believe Herman is just 24 years old. As noted above he needs to get serious about training if he wants to step up in class but he’s got all of the tools…

ROUND ONE:

Herman throwing side kicks trying to keep Schall off balance. Herman apparently trained with Frank Mir in Las Vegas prior this fight. Schall NAILS Herman with a big overhand right hand which he just shakes off and retaliates with a flurry of strikes. The real damage was done with a couple of knee strikes which sends Schall to the ground and then follows up with hammerfists before the referee jumps in for the stoppage. Another impressive stoppage victory for Herman….

DAVE HERMAN WINS BY TKO

Replay shows that one of Herman’s knee strikes may have been low but the ref didn’t catch it. Herman gives one of his typically aloof interviews–he needs to work on this because it makes fans not want to like him.

Anyway, that’s it for an entertaining card from ShoXC….thanks as always for joining us here at THE SAVAGE SCIENCE
