Announcer is someone we haven’t heard of but he has a pretty good catch phrase: “It’s time to RATTLE THIS CAGE”. Beerbohm’s nickname is “Fancy Pants”, and obviously you’ve got to be pretty tough to roll with that sobriquet. Beerbohm from Spokane, WA and has fought on cards for Matt Lindland’s Sportfight promotion here in Portland. And, yep, Beerbohm is wearing “fancy pants”–spandex shorts in a garish combination of colors that would make Shinya Aoki blush…Olivera is a BJJ black belt but has won most of his fights by KO. Mark Lichtenfeld is the ring announcer’s name…

ROUND ONE:

Olivera takes Beerbohm down immediately and takes his opponent’s back and lays into him with strikes to the head. Beerbohm trying to protect himself while improving his position. Olivera now working a triangle choke from the bottom which Beerbohm breaks momentarily. Beerbohm tries to work a guillotine choke out of desperation more than anything else. Olivera gets out of that with ease and now throws in a knee strike against the cage. Beerbohm lands a solid bodykick out of nowhere and bulls his opponent up to the cage. Nice firemans carry takedown Beerbohm but Olivera transitions immediately into an arm bar. Beerbohm escapes and now tries to bull Olivera to the cage. Another nice takedown by Beerbohm–Beerbohm has only been training MMA for 19 months and he recently called out Nick Diaz. Elbow from the top opens a wicked cut on Olivera’s head–can’t see the location from the current vantage point. Round about to end and Olivera takes it 10-9

Doctor looking at the nasty cut on Olivera’s forehead–this one may get stopped. The location isn’t bad but its *deep* and there’s really no way that he can continue as its bleeding pretty profusely. Steven Quatros says “you can put a quarter in that cut”. Yep, the fight has been stopped handing Olivera his first professional loss. It’s a shame since Olivera was winning but that’s part of the fight game…
