Former EliteXC heavyweight champion Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva has been added to the fight card for Sengoku Non Ran scheduled for 1/4/09 in Tokyo. Silva will fight PRIDE/K-1 veteran Yoshihiro “Kiss” Nakao. Nakao is well known for his staredown kiss of Heath Herring at a K-1 event, which is where he got his nickname.

This fight will put Silva in a tenuous legal position should he ever want to fight again in the US, as he’s currently under suspension for a year by the California State Athletic Commission for testing positive for steroids last July. Then again, with the CSAC throwing out all of their former testing procedures and not conducting drug tests until new guidelines are formulated maybe he’d have a good legal challenge for the ban.

Oddly, Nakao is the only fighter on the Sengoku website card who has his name listed in the usual Japanese convention of last name first. The other Japanese fighters have their names listed in the western convention of first name first. Wonder if someone at World Victory Road just slipped up or if there’s a reason for this.
