Anderson Silva is reportedly working with top boxing trainer Freddy Roach. Roach has been working with Andrei Arlovski for some time now, and his influence on “The Pit Bull” has been demonstrable. Arlovski has always had fast hands for his size, but now they’re an even more dangerous weapon.

As the post at TheGarv.com notes, one only hopes that Roach has been enlisted to help Silva improve his MMA striking and not as a prelude to a transition to boxing:

Anderson Silva aka The Spider is working with legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach. Silva’s always had good hands, but with Roach in his corner they will be room for improvement. I hope that hiring Roach is not a prelude to Anderson Silva making the move to boxing. He’s a great MMA fighter, but boxing is an entirely different sport and Silva’s main weapons will be taken away.

And yes, Roy Jones Jr would murderlize him inside 3 rounds. In boxing. Boxing is just not MMA.
