Mark Ecko not looking to buy EliteXC
By Jim Murphy December 8th, 2008Contrary to rumors, Mark Ecko isn’t in negotiations to buy the assets of EliteXC:
Cross Marc Ecko Enterprises (MEE) off the list of potential bidders for ProElite’s assets.
Laurie Baker, VP of Communications at MEE, alerted MMAFighting.com on Monday that the rumors are false.
“Marc Ecko Enterprises is not bidding on ProElite, and has not entered into any talks to acquire the company,” Baker stated to MMAFighting.com.
Mark Ecko Enterprises began sponsoring MMA fighters the past year and has gone on to sell MMA fight shorts, shirts and hoodies. The company reported sales of over $1.5 billion in global retail sales in 2007.
The bidders looking to purchase ProElite will also try to resurrect the EliteXC’s television contract with CBS.
This leaves a group of investors led by former King of the Cage owner Terry Trebilcock as the only known bidder for ProElite.
