Benji Radach and Scott Smith to fight 4/11
By Jim Murphy February 5th, 2009Obviously a busy day in the Strikeforce offices–the promotion has inked a fight between Benji Radach and Scott Smith for a 4/11/09 card in San Jose.
With the ink still drying on the contract that finalized Strikeforce’s acquisition of select PreElite/EliteXC assets, former EliteXC fighter Benji Radach (19-4) and recent Strikeforce import Scott Smith (14-5) have agreed to meet in a middleweight contest under the Strikeforce banner.
Fiveouncesofpain.com was the first to report the matchup, and sources close to the event told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that the two have verbally agreed to the contest, though bout agreements have yet to be signed.
According to the sources, the bout will take place at as-yet-to-be-announced card tentatively scheduled for April 11 in San Jose, Calif.
