By Jim Murphy February 27th, 2009

Got a press release about the tape delay broadcast of the K-1 World Max 2009 Japan event which took place on Monday in Tokyo. While we hate the fact they didn’t air it live, it does give us the opportunity to remind everyone about the event. Just a great night of fighting with two ‘fight of the year’ candidates so DO NOT MISS IT!!

WHAT: This Friday, HDNet will air “HDNet Fights Presents: FieLDS K-1 World MAX 2009 Japan Tournament” at 10:00 p.m. ET. The event features a one-night, 8-man tournament of the best 154-pound and under kickboxers in Japan. These men are vying for the right to represent Japan in the K-1 World MAX Final Elimination tournament in July which will air exclusively in North America on HDNet.

The quarter-finals pit Nagajima “Jienotsu” Juichiro vs. HAYATO, MAX veteran TATSUJI vs. Yuya Yamamoto, Yasuhiro Kido vs. HINATA, and Andy Ologun vs. Taishin Kohirumaki, plus Sergey Golaev vs. Yoshihiro Sato in a Superfight and much more.

WHEN: Friday, February 27 at 10:00 p.m. ET on HDNet.
