Nick Diaz gives his side of the test no show story
By Jim Murphy August 8th, 2009According to Diaz’s camp, Cesar Gracie rescheduled the test for Monday in advance. The CSAC is disputing this, of course, saying that both asides agreed to a Friday test. Were this in any state but California I’d be more inclined to give the Athletic Commission the benefit of the doubt. The CSAC is notoriously inept (which is why there was a ‘wait and see’ attitude among more rational MMA media types even after rumors of the Josh Barnett positive drug test surfaced) and they’ve had a vendetta against Diaz dating back to his run in Elite XC. We’ll keep you posted…

Any other state than California and I would be scratching my head just a bit and be calling shenanigans. But knowing Nick Diaz personally, he does constantly privately and publicly talk about his love for the Mary Jane. I sure hope he isn’t trying to buy time to use the Whizzinator or something, because this is a very important fight.

I hate the fact that he even has to worry about it. It is a shame that good fights get ruined because the rules are so strict about smoking weed. Diaz has a prescription and it for sure isn’t performance enhancing. I hope this all gets cleared up, Diaz is one of the most exciting fighters out there.
