Kimbo Slice vs. Roy Nelson result
By Jim Murphy September 30th, 2009If you want to know the result of last night’s fight between Roy Nelson and Kimbo Slice on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ here it is. If you don’t want to know, turn your head real fast. In either case, we’ll have a full report from our TUF beat writer Mike Wilkerson forthcoming:
Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson beats Kimbo Slice by 2nd round TKO. Kimbo landed some shots in the first round, but at the end of the round was basically in the same situation he was in during the James Thompson fight. They did the same spot where Herb Dean could have stopped the fight and didn’t and Kimbo made it to the end of the round. In the second, Big Country got the fight to the ground and administered some ground and pound for the stoppage.

If anyone got a favorable call it was Kimbo–he was getting pounded at the end of the first round and the fight could have easily been stopped then. The UFC gave him every opportunity to win the fight–much like he received in the James Thompson fight during his EliteXC days. Unlike that fight, however, he was in against a more experienced and talented opponent.
Kimbo is worth too much money to the UFC, however, and he’s not going anywhere. Look for him to be beating up whatever tomato cans they can find for him starting this December.

Dana White is a real deal business man. Come on this is great for ratings. Kimbo vs Roy Nelson (a fight Kimbo obviously threw, come on he wasn’t even fighting back) Kimbo loses, wins the next week fighting for Marcus Jones who is hurt, stays in the house and TUF10 wraps up the season with a Kimbo/Nelson rematch either on the season finale OR at UFC 108. Either way, Dana makes big bucks, and he gets his cash cow in Kimbo Slice
