Mariusz Pudzianowski’s next opponent?

By Jim Murphy December 18th, 2009

Mariusz ‘Puddin’ Pudzianowski, off of a victory in his MMA debut, is already mulling his next move. The former ‘World’s Strongest Man’ champion has reportedly been approached for a fight against Aleksander Emelianenko next April. There’s also another name that recently dropped his gloves and threw his hat into the ring: former NHL enforcer 6′5″ 245 lb. Krzysztof Oliwa. Polish MMA website MMA Rocks reported that Oliwa said he’d gladly fight Pudzianowski during an interview on Polsat Sports.

Aleksander E’s experience notwithstanding, I might take my chances with him before I’d scrap with the monstrous Oliwa who legitimately enjoys beating people up. As the videos below demonstrate, he’s also very good at it.

Mariusz would murder this guy, how can that crap be compared to fightin in MMA?

Sick of hockey players thinkin they are good enough to fight in MMA, stick to your piss poor Ice Hockey and let the real 110% committed MMA guys do their job.

  2. Jim Murphy Says:

You ‘Puddin’ fans need to check yourself–he’s won one fight against another guy making his MMA debut and all of a sudden he’s Fedor Emelianenko. Outside of fighters, hockey players are by far the toughest athletes in any sport. I’d take any top level NHL enforcer against a guy who’s pre-fight career background was carrying refrigerators around on his back.

  3. Marcin Says:

Who the hell is ‘Puddin’? It’s “Pudzian” if anything!

  4. Dillon L Says:

hahah murphy your a retard bro. I dont care what panzy ass hockey player you get, the biggest strongest one will be annihilated by pudz. He is a freak of nature with enough athleticism to make any hockey player look stupid.

  5. Jim Murphy Says:

“Puddin” is Pudzianowski’s nickname that is sweeping America. I think its Aztec in origin, literally translated meaning ‘he who tosses beer kegs’

  6. Jim Murphy Says:

He’s a freak of nature with one professional fight against guys who can skate and throw punches at the same time. At this point, any NHL enforcer would leave ‘Puddin’ beat and bloodied.

  7. Jim Murphy Says:

Of course if the ‘fight’ consisted of throwing beer kegs or carrying large appliances, ‘Puddin’ would definitely have the edge

  8. fraz Says:

jim you talk sh*t, obviously your a hockey fan..but get real those fights are a joke!!! they would have no chance against an mma fighter.. super mario is more than twice as strong as any of them guys, just as fit, and has trained in fighting arts..he may not get all the way in mma ( tho suspect he will ) but would without aby doubt destroy any nhl player..take 45 seconds to watch his fight against a pro boxer who could fight and would also destroy anyone in nhl..and se how it would go down against any nhl guy…….get real he is a monster of real proportions

  9. Neil Says:

Those hockey “fights” are not real fights at all, there is only one non padded target: the opponent’s head. In mma, the whole body is a target. Mariusz is 6′1 313lbs of sheer muscle with excellent balance and coordination, and not to mention crazy power and strength. Whomever you put in a cage with Mariusz, he is going to stalk, and eventually get to unless you make the cage way bigger which is not an option. Brock lesnar (6′3 265 UFC heavyweight champ) might be the only man that can match that sort of size and athleticism. Brock lesnar is huge and he still gives up over 50 lbs of sheer muscle to the leaner Mariusz Pudzianowski. You would be extremely hard pressed to find a man weighing around 310lbs that is as strong, fit, and as athletic as Pudziannowski.

mariusz is a phenomenon you nhl fool, have you seen his kicks. ridiculous.

  11. Jim Murphy Says:

Big deal…he kicked ass on a substandard boxer with no MMA experience. If he tried that with Lesnar or Fedor–or any other legit heavyweight–they’d tear his leg off and beat him with it.

  12. Anon Says:

Pudzianowski’s strength and cardio accomplishments are unrivaled in all of written history. He has spent some time boxing amateur level and practicing kyokushin karate. He broke his sparring partner’s leg with 30% leg kicks and launched his opponent into the ropes with them was KSWXII.

If you think some enforcer is going to do anything to Pudzian except LOSE, you are entitled to your opinion but don’t expect any sane man to agree with you. Hell, I say give the hockey player his pads even so he doesn’t lose as quickly.

  13. shuub55 Says:

Yeah najman may have been making his debut too, but any way you look at it pudzian dominated the fight. He ended it within a minute. You seem to not know much about what you are talking about, thinking that mariusz is inexperienced and doesn’t have any business in mma. do your homework before you start bashin one of the greatest athletes of our time. he has boxing experience and has competed in kyokushin karate, so its not like he went in blind. even with him being inexperienced in mma, I hate to bust your bubble but brock nor fedor would just flat out dominate him. I’m not saying that he would necessarily win, but give him a few more fights and I bet he would beat either of them. I guarantee that no one will work harder than he does. you dont become the greatest strongest man in history without ungodly hard work and dedication. and I am willing to bet that if he decides to take the career path of mma that he will work just as hard if not harder to be the best in the world.

  14. bocian Says:

hehehehehe wow murphy are you serious? from what youre saying, you sound like youre joking. the sad truth is that the best hockey fighter would probably have problems fightin najman, and thats a looooooong way away from pudzian… lets get real for a minute…

‘Aleksander E’s experience notwithstanding, I might take my chances with him before I’d scrap with the monstrous Oliwa who legitimately enjoys beating people up’ WTF!!! Emelianenko would fuck this hockey bitch up! rather take my chances with Emelianenko! come on man, hes a ligit fighter one of the….if not the best fighter on the planet and has faced bigger dudes that pudzi. schockin

  16. Diego Says:

Mariuz will destroy any nhl enforcer are you kidding me?! Mariuz is the type that goes plain nuts and all he wnats to do is win,,,so sorry for his opponents but 95 percent of these fighters dont have this type of mentality. Not to mention his explosiveness, brute strength and he knows how to fight 2 different styles. But all in all this guy is a winner by nature and his mind and personality do the work for him. He is one crazy guy Id hate running into! Id put my money on him to go all the way.

  17. sean Says:

omg pudzianowski would apsolutely rip this little chav apart, how can you think some guy who wears massive shoulder pads and punches people on ice is hard, fuck you

  18. Anonymous Says:

Pudzianowski would beat any NHL fighter (unless they trained for fighting specifically and Pudianowski doesn’t). But a top heavyweight MMA fighter would beat Mariusz at least right now.

  19. pete Says:

I dont think anyone would have the strength to stop the pudzian he is an amazing athlete No one is ever going to pin him down or stop him when hes on a rampage he is just plain dangerous!! Only way to beat him would be to keep him away with very very fast very powerful punches and wait till he gets tired i guess cos when he gets hold of you it wont matter wat hold u try and put him in he will crush you like a malteser

  20. roger Says:

    sorry boys!!
this man did not beat up all his competitors, the fights was stopped before any beating, not stronger then other hockyplayers.
he will not last in any mma fight, and not in boxing,,tell me whitch former hockey player who is in the top of any fighting sport??

pudzian is strong, but will not take the best in mma, to slow, stiff and new…
