Brock Lesnar’s July UFC return just a rumor

By Jim Murphy December 19th, 2009

Dave Meltzer shoots down reports that Lesnar’s people have confirmed a July return to action for the UFC heavyweight champ:

There is nothing to the story of Brock Lesnar on his supposed Facebook account saying he will be fighting in July. It was posted there, but according to people very close to him it’s not true. He’s not making any decisions for at least the next six weeks, and when there is official news about anything, UFC will break it, not Brock. Lesnar doesn’t even have an Internet connection, let alone Facebook account.

Obviously everyone concerned hopes that Lesnar will be able to resume his fighting career, and sooner not later, but as of yet nothing has been decide as to when or even if he’ll return.

lol, people thought Brock had a Facebook?

  2. Jim Murphy Says:

What, Brock doesn’t strike you as a ’social media’ kind of guy? ;-)

  3. Conor Says:

LOL On Brocks official Deatclutch page it says become friends with Brock on Facebook! LOL People thought Brock did not have facebook?

  4. Jim Murphy Says:

Apparantly its Brock’s own management denying that he has a Facebook or, as Meltzer notes, an Internet connection. Deathclutch may have a FB account or he mat have a ‘fan page’ without him actually maintaining it. Regardless, the important thing is that the report of a July return is premature at this point.

I heard he was fighting Cheick Kongo in August……

That might make sense, but I’m thinking that Meltzer’s right and nothing has been decided as of yet. I’ve got my issues with Meltzer from time to time but he’s usually accurate with his UFC reporting.
