Apparently Nick Diaz–who has all of the talent to be among the sport’s ‘pound for pound’ best–was one of the fighters ‘acquired’ by Strikeforce and is likely to appear on their 4/11 event against an opponent TBA.

Here’s more information on the Strikeforce deal with Showtime–the previously reported Benji Radach vs. Scott Smith fight will be part of the debut event on Showtime as will fights featuring Cung Le and Frank Shamrock against opponents TBA. Also, Strikeforce will air quarterly shows on CBS–much like EliteXC did before their demise:

The rumored Strikeforce purchase of Pro Elite is a done deal. The California based promotion issued a press release today indicating that they’ve acquired “certain fighter contracts” as well as the EliteXC tape library.
