The rumored Strikeforce purchase of Pro Elite is a done deal. The California based promotion issued a press release today indicating that they’ve acquired “certain fighter contracts” as well as the EliteXC tape library. It’s not mentioned in the release, but they’ve also worked out a deal with Showtime for quarterly live events [...]

A rumor afoot at this hour that Scott Coker of Strikeforce will be purchasing the assets of Pro Elite/EliteXC. An announcement is reportedly forthcoming within the next 48 hours. There’s a lot of coverage in the Boise area on the death of Justin Eilers. Local law enforcement are describing his death as a domestic situation that escalated to an “unfortunate end”. Eilers is being remembered by the local MMA community as a guy who never forgot his roots:

Contrary to rumors, Mark Ecko isn’t in negotiations to buy the assets of EliteXC:
Cross Marc Ecko Enterprises (MEE) off the list of potential bidders for ProElite’s assets.
