Muhammed “Mo” Lawal will replace the injured Roger Gracie and face Travis Wiuff at Sengoku 5. Lawal is making his MMA debut after a stellar amateur wrestling career that included 2 NCAA championships. Lawal has been training with Team Quest in California so he’ll definitely be ready….

We’ve known about his injury for awhile now, but World Victory Road finally updated the Sengoku 5 card accordingly. Travis Wiuff is still listed as competing, but now he’ll take on the always tough ‘TBA’.

World Victory Road has set a 11/1/08 date for Sengoku 6. A couple of the lightweight GP tournament matches originally set for 9/28/08 at Sengoku 5 have been moved to the November card:

Frank Trigg is making his pro wrestling debut on tonight’s No Surrender PPV in a “MMA rules” match against AJ Styles. We’ll a report on how it went later tonight/tomorrow….

World Victory Road has landed a deal with a Japanese broadcast TV network, TV Tokyo. The deal will include recap shows of previous Sengoku events as well as a live broadcast of the company’s New Years Eve event.

A couple of new matches added to the 9/28 World Victory Road Sengoku 5 card. A Sol Kwon will face Kiuma Kunioku and in a potentially very entertaining matchup Roger Gracie will fight Travis Wiuff. Gracie is on another level as a BJJ practitioner but Wiuff is a tough, experienced opponent.
